location using a bluetooth GPS receiver right on the person's mobile phone. This included writing a driver in J2ME which facilitated the reception of GPS data to mobile phone and a parser to interpret the same.

Mobile Search: Designed and implemented a software which enables a user to make use of Onyomo's existing search engine on the mobile phone alongwith an array of features such as receiving RSS feeds, etc. Check it out for yourself.

Chat Bot: Extended an open source chat bot (Alicebot) to include features such as search, subscribing to RSS fields, etc. simulating an intelligent conversation with human user via instant messengers like yahoo, msn etc. Try it out!

MAJOR PROJECT (under the guidance of Dr. Kolin Paul and Prof. M. Balakrishnan)

EADS FFT Accelerator Project (sponsored) : The aim is to design custom hardware for optimizing turn around time of FFT (Fast Fourier Transform). A separate webpage of the project (with more details) is maintained here.

SUMMER PROJECT (under the guidance of Dr. Dheeraj Bhardwaj)

Biobox (sponsored by Sun Microsystems) : Build a 'bio-cluster' grid based on ROCKS architecture and integrated the same with Sun's Biobox. Also enabled display on ROCKS compute nodes. Created a ROCKS roll that has been accepted by Sun Microsystems as a turnkey solution for running a majority of bioinformatics applications on ROCKS.
